Skyes into Rooms – Educational Furnishing

A school, whether it is a nursery, kindergarten, multipurpose hall, learning lab, or hospital ward, must consider the activities that will be organized in these spaces, with a primary focus on functionality and educational aspects. An often-overlooked factor is the overall ambience, which includes the colours of the walls, distinctive graphics, desired scenography, lighting, and spatial volumes. These details are crucial when defining an educational space.

Recent university studies indicate that effectiveness and cognitive retention, as well as the affirmation of personal identity, are significantly influenced by the aesthetic elements of the chosen environment.

Skyes into rooms is a project that has embraced and perhaps pioneered this research, integrating its outcomes into our designs. The focus is on the individual—whether child, elderly, patient, teacher, or medical staff—using tones, colours, and graphics to create intimacy and familiarity. Rooms, entrances, hallways, and atriums become more than just spaces; they are welcoming environments where the “guest” becomes the main character.
